Erin's Mishap

I awoke Saturday morning to the sound of lots of kids downstairs. Erin had decided to race ripsticks (skateboards) with the neighborhood kids before 8a.m. While racing, her foot slipped off and down she fell. The neighborhood kids helped her home and explained what happened. She was saying her wrist hurt. I gave her an ice-pack and two ibuprofens and sent her upstairs to rest. I dressed, headed to the gym, and then I ran to the shoe store to get Dylan's tennis shoes for HipHop class. I called the house to make sure all was well, and Dylan answered saying that Erin was crying really bad. I headed home to find Erin still crying and in pain. Her wrist was really white with very little swelling, but it just didn't look right. I took her to the urgent care clinic where they x-rayed her wrist to discover it was broken. They wrapped it up in a hard splint and referred us to an orthopedic clinic Monday. We just left the orthopedic clinic where they informed us that they will need to put Erin to sleep to move the bone back into place. Tomorrow around noon, we will have her all fixed up! She's tough, but say a little prayer anyway. She's very upset about dance, but hopefully the doctor will at least let her pick the color of her cast to match her dance costume since we have pictures this week. I'll post photos of her and her cast if she'll let me snap a few photos.

Ski Photos

Yes, it was cold, but boy we had FUN! I loved the vacation, but I'm thankful for my Louisiana winters. WinterPark, Colorado had tons of snow, but we had a great time there!

Candy Shop with a Good Name

While in Houston this weekend after our ski vacation, we headed over to the Galleria. I was reminded again just how big that place is! While shopping we stopped in a really cool candy store called, "Dylan's Candy Bar". It was great. Dylan and I asked the person at the cash register if kids with the same name get any special priveleges or samples... of course they said "no", but they did tell us that the Dylan the candy store is named after is actually a girl. After bagging up rock candy, sour candies, gummy candies, sweet tarts, chocolates, bubble gum, and pop rocks, I snapped a quick photo of my Dylan and Erin in front of the store's sign. Too bad they didn't offer calorie-free candies!
