4th of July Festivities

We had a ton of friends, family, & neighbors join us for fireworks and food. Chewee especially loved the fireworks. Poor dog doesn't realize they could hurt him... he just loves playing "firework fetch"! Kids jumped on the trampoline, played hide & seek, ate cupcakes, popped fireworks, drank fruit slushy drinks, and much more.

Surprise Birthday Celebration

WD got me good this year! I don't think I've ever had such a fun birthday. He arranged for most of our family and friends (and even my coworkers) to be at our house last night. When he and I arrived from eating out, we walked in the door and everyone jumped out and surprised me. I have never been so surprised or freaked-out. I know that I couldn't have a better husband, better family, and better friends. Thanks to all who planned, replanned (as I know it was initially scheduled for tonight), and make it over! You made turning 34 an event I'll never forget. Ya'll are the greatest and I am truly thankful!

Horsey Birthday Party

Saturday morning, we were invited to attend a birthday party at a local horse ranch. Savannah, WD's cousin's little girl, turned 7! The kids enjoyed riding the horse, as well as eating the hamburgers, busting the pinata, and best of all playing with the "Flarp". Happy Birthday, Savannah!!!

Halloween Party 2007

Every year we assist in hosting a wonderful Halloween party at my in-law's house. We set up carnival style games for the kids to play where they can grab fists full of candy as well as rent a huge spacewalk-slide for them. The adults enjoy a little good cooking (my favorite are the mini "ghost" pizzas) and great company!

Good Weekend

This weekend has been pretty nice. WD, the kids and the dog all left yesterday morning to go camping, which left me to sleep late, leisurely get up and get my house cleaned. The cleaning house isn't fun, but having a clean house is very nice. I had a few girlfriends over Saturday night. We had a great time! Here's a few notes to my guests:
  • Jill - From Africa, huh?!
  • Angie - She had samples!!! Are you sure you're related to Jill?!? (just kidding... I absolutely love Jill... wish she were in my family)
  • Stacie - I told you I was a control freak; now I wonder if Darra is... if so I know what to get him for Christmas ;-)
  • Brooklyn - Now you know way too much about your brother... see how to get me to talk?!?
  • Karen - Your exes just don't know what they lost... well you know how to have fun without them ;-)
  • Adela - I got your e-mail... thank you for forgiving me... the party wouldn't have been the same without you.
So whose hosting the next party?!? We can include the guys next time and leave Sara and her "party favors" at home -OR- I can hook you up with Jerri (in my opinion she knows how to have a better party).

Party Planning

In preparation for a little party I will be having soon, I was looking for something novel for the guests to enjoy. I thought about perhaps chocolate shot glasses. Basically little glasses made of chocolate... yummy to fill with any delectable drink, ice cream or fruit. I decided to do a search online for these, when I came across something else that may not be as flavorsome, but would be oh so entertaining. Imagine serving a few tipsy party guests "more" in one of these:
It's a shot glass shaped ice tray! I can just see a bunch of drunks with their lips stuck to the side of one of these. LOL... it would make for great party entertainment!

You know you've had a good party when...

all the food is gone! We hosted a fabulous 4th of July party last night. Lots and lots of people (we estimated about 50 people showed up... some of which I had to introduce myself to because I had never met them!), lots of food (2 thumbs up for Dad Roddy's brisket and Wayne's oh-so-perfect smoked chicken), lots of fireworks (I ended up making 6 ice bags for 6 different people who got burned/injured :-()

I hope everyone who came had a great time and that no one left hungry. For those of you who left early (we all had to go to work today), we ended up hanging out until around midnight. Notes to some of attendees:
*Connie... you may want to take your husband home WITH you at the next party. He nearly caused WWIII with David and the fireworks!
*Rob & Jen... we promise we won't throw such out-of-control parties next time (Todd will go home with Connie :-) Keep doing a great job with your girls... with Emery's crush on Dyl, she may just end up as part of our family one day.
*Ellen & Chen... it was good to meet you... maybe we can get together soon in a "calmer" setting to get to know you better.
*Jill & Irvin... you fit in with us just perrrrfectly!
*Mom & Dad... we really do take care of our kids... it's not everyday we let them run around barefoot eating junk food, with burning fireworks ;-)
*Brooklyn & Zach... hope you join us for more of our parties (so what if there is about 10 years difference... partying with you is so much fun... hope you feel the same).
*Justin & Heather... you have great family (Dennis & Shauna were so cool to chat with).
*Darra & Stacie... party on!
